Miracles - Be a Good Fruit Inspector

Dearly Beloved, please be careful to be a good fruit inspector when it comes to discerning the Spiritual realm and miracles. In more recent times, it has become fashionable, even preferable, to seek out the unexplained and other oddities in order to satisfy our curiousities and our morbid senses. But, beloved, I would urge you to seek out what is better for your soul, spirit, body, and mind. Many times these urges in us are borne out of curiosity, and a selfish desire to exercise control over things and people and/or our selfish desire to be waited on for our every perceived necessities of Life.

Watch for your soul...

The soul knows what it needs, correct? WRONG!!! Only God knows what is best for your soul. Some of us are so eager to look for God in the Heaven and Universe, elsewhere outside of our body that He made. Let me give you a concrete example:

A computer gets built that is said to be very capable. It can calculate at blistering speeds. It can sort flawlessly (most of the time). It will do everything that the programmer tells it to do (a most faithful servant). It can even be made to simulate intelligence. Yet, a computer is nothing but a set of relays and electronic circuits that perform the functions of a mechanical calculating machine, and not even without wasting precious instruction cycles. (For further information on instruction cycles of a computer, it is recommended that you read a good book about the ENIAC and how it worked.) As the book of proverbs tells us, there is a difference between knowledge on the one hand and wisdom on the other. The two terms are not synonymous. As much as computer programmers may have tried, no program has ever been built that can simulate wisdom. As such, a computer is never able to "think" on its own, or to apply "wisdom" of any kind. Thereby, a computer can never know what is good for itself. It does not "know" or "feel" anything.

LIKEWISE with us. It has also been said in Holy Scripture that we have the ability to possess wisdom, but that many times, we are unable to apply wisdom effectively. The nature of this is due to the fact that, as creatures of God, we are not full of the kind of wisdom that is only possessed by our God, Who created us. Thereby, creatures are limited in perception, wisdom, and ability when compared to God. With that in mind, how can we say that we know, better than God, what is best for us?

Shall we follow snake oil or the Word of God?

As little children, we often get fascinated over strange things. (viz: miracles, angels, and other things). Now it is true that curiosity is not always a bad thing. Yet, without discrimination as applied to the situation from the Word of God, we oftentimes unwittingly endanger our existence. Therefore, as the Word of God tells us, let us look at all things inspecting its fruit to see if we can discriminate between the good and the bad. Also, shall we not put our entire Faith and Trust in our Creator? That kind of wisdom is not used enough by us!!! Think about these things, my beloved.
